kaitlin mosley, my partner in crime from our show at silicon gallery is having an opening tonight.
she will be showing some new/old work at the last drop, and i suggest you check it out.
her work is incredibly beautiful. she photographs with an old 35mm camera and expired film, giving her work this soft, warm look like looking through old family photo albums from years ago. she creates ethereal photographs of her family and their summer trips to assateague island, a truly other worldly place, with wild horses roaming the shore.
tonight at the last drop – 1300 pine street – philadelphia – 7-9pm

excellent post about race, money, and photography, and the fact that the entire judging panel for the recent PDN photo annual competition was white.
“Just how is it that to this day, people of color are still not represented anywhere near proportionately in these creative command positions?
One major reason (the major reason?) is blatantly obvious- the economics of the photo world stratosphere.”
“God bless William Eggleston, love his stuff to death- but how well would his name be known if he had had to work for a living?”
